Summer camps featuring lectures and tours will be held at Shanghai Zoo in Changning District from June 25 to explore the animal world at night, the zoo said on Friday.

The night tours have been developed based on the habits of different animals and will take participants to the swan lake, the living areas of animals native to Shanghai, lion and tiger mountain and the primate habitat, the zoo said.

The activities are designed for children aged between 6 and 12 and their parents.

They will learn about the behavior after dark of animals that include otters, racoon dogs, leopards and South China tigers during guided tours.

Applications are open on the zoo’s WeChat account and the activities will run through August 30.
