1 new coronavirus case reported in Shanghai

One new imported COVID-19 case was reported in the city on Wednesday, while one imported patient from Zambia was discharged upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Thursday morning.

The newly diagnosed patient is a Chinese working in Zambia who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on July 14.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 26 close contacts on the plane have been put under quarantine and observation at designated place.

So far, of all the 390 imported cases, 357 have been discharged upon recovery and 33 are still hospitalized.

One imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Wednesday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 334 have been discharged upon recovery and one is hospitalized for treatment. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
