Qingpu District is in full swing in preparation for the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) with tasks in 18 areas mapped out, the district authorities announced on Tuesday.

The greenery around the National Exhibition and Convention Center will be further beautified, and cleaning and maintenance work on the west Hongqiao area will be beefed up, the district government said.

Information sharing in fields including public security, transport and health will be accelerated in preparation for the event, and more intelligent applications will be introduced to ensure a rapid response mechanism, it said.

The district is stepping up efforts to boost the overflow effect of the CIIE.

Tour itineraries centering on CIIE venues have been released, and a district direction center to guarantee the success of the event has been established.

A cluster of MICE industry companies is also taking shape in the district.

"Exchange events blending the cloud economy and digital services will be held to lure investment and make promotions ahead of the event," said Ye Lijun, deputy director of Qingpu’s Commission of Commerce.

A series of events gathering heads of 17 listed companies to brainstorm business opportunities and innovations has begun in Qingpu’s West Hongqiao Business District.
