The city reported five more imported novel coronavirus cases on Sunday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning.

The first patient is a Chinese working in the UK who departed from the UK on August 13, transferred via Russia and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 14.

The second patient is a Taiwan resident who departed from Taiwan on August 15 and arrived at the Shanghai airport the same day.

The third patient is a Chinese studying in the US who departed from the US on August 19 and arrived at the airport on August 20.

The fourth and fifth patients are Chinese working in Singapore who departed from Singapore on August 21 and arrived at the airport on August 22.

All the new patients have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 155 close contacts on the planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

Meanwhile, 10 patients were discharged from hospital upon recovery,

So far, of all the 538 imported cases, 461 have been discharged upon recovery and 77 are still hospitalized.

Two imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Sunday, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
