4 more imported coronavirus cases reported in Shanghai

The city reported four more imported novel coronavirus cases on Tuesday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Wednesday morning.

The first patient is a Chinese working in the United States who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 23.

The second to the fourth patients are Chinese working in Singapore who arrived at the Shanghai airport on the same flight on August 24. 

The new patients have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 207 close contacts on the planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

Meanwhile, six patients were discharged from hospital upon recovery on Tuesday.

So far, of all the 544 imported cases, 470 have been discharged upon recovery and 74 are still hospitalized.

No imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Tuesday, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
