Man sentenced to 1.5 years for beating up former teacher
A man was sentenced to one and a half years for assaulting his former middle school teacher, a court in central China’s Henan Province said Wednesday.
Chang Renyao ran into into Zhang, his eighth-grade teacher in Luanchuan County in July 2018. Remembering Zhang used to punish him physically, Chang decided to take revenge, the People’s Court in Luanchuan County heard.
Chang stopped Zhang, insulted him, slapped him four times and punched him in the face while asking his friend to film the whole process, the court said.
Chang sent the video to several WeChat groups, causing widespread attention and seriously disrupting Zhang’s life, the court said.
Chang was given a lenient sentence because he turned himself in.
