Flowers blossom in Pudong for Peach Blossom Festival
The Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival kicks off in the Pudong New Area today, and the pink peach flowers are in full bloom at the Datuan, Laogang, Huinan and Xinchang towns.
A pink flower sea is awaiting visitors as the Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival kicks off in the Pudong New Area today.
Pink peach flowers are in full bloom at the Datuan, Laogang, Huinan and Xinchang towns as well as the Shanghai Flower Port, Lingang area and Shanghai International Resort. The sea of pink nestles amidst traditional Jiangnan residences of white walls and black tiles in ancient water towns, presenting a feast for the eyes.
There are eight recommended routes for spring outings and peach flower appreciation that meander through spots including Datuan Peach Orchard, Nanhui Peach Village, Xinchang Ancient Town, Shanghai Flower Port, Binhai Forest Park, Dishui Lake, Disney Town and Xinnan Village.
They are designed to allow tourists to experience countryside sightseeing, wetland beauty, forest cycling, and camping during the trips.

Cultural experience activities, a charity run and an oil painting exhibition will also be held during the festival. Peach related delicacies will be served, and a food competition will be hosted. Visitors will also have the chance to learn how to make peach flower fans.
On top of that, Shanghai Tower will host an exhibition presenting a pink peach flower garden through optical means.
The festival will run through April 20, and free shuttle buses will depart from Huinan Station of Metro Line 16 to the Datuan Peach Orchard, Binhai Shiwai Peach Orchard and Nanhui Peach Village.
