Market watchdogs in the Yangtze River Delta region signed seven cooperation agreements and memorandums on Wednesday, covering areas such as e-business license applications, law enforcement and green product certification under enhanced integration of the region.

The Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation and market watchdogs in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces also inked deals in Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province, over the integrated development of supervision and management science and technology in market-related affairs, the verification of the capability of inspection and testing institutions, meteorology, and the establishment of a cloud platform to handle consumer complaints.

Market authorities in the region have already started trials on the recognition of documents allowing Chinese "natural persons" to fund and establish foreign-invested enterprises as domestic investors issued in either Shanghai and the three provinces, according to the Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation.

The recognition also covers documents regarding foreigners with Chinese green cards to set up science and technology companies issued in either Shanghai and the three provinces, it said.

So far, a database with 150 million items of information on market entities in the region has been established, according to the administration.

A total of 67 companies now allow returns and refunds on products in any of their outlets in the region.

A food safety information tracking platform has also been established, enabling information sharing of six categories of food in cities like Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Wuxi and Ningbo, and it has recorded 1.35 billion items of tracking information, the administration said.

The application of QR code information tracking technology for vegetables is also promoted in the region, the administration said.

Uniform standards in fields such as urban management, tourism and household management are drafted in the region, it said.

Market watchdogs in the region will further enhance sharing of government affairs service data, and promote the application of e-business license in cross-area and cross-government-service platforms to improve efficiency in relevant affairs this year, the administration said.

They will also promote the verification of the capability of inspection and testing institutions in the region in environment monitoring, textiles, construction materials and vehicle testing to create a better business environment, the administration said.

Consumer councils in the region will establish a single complaint platform and improve online complaint handling to create a better consumer environment, the administration said.
